Axial Fit

Help · Getting started

Setting up your first plan

Your first plan comes from a short setup: four steps about you, your goal, your equipment and anything that should slow things down. It takes a few minutes, and you can change every answer later without starting over.

Before the setup

The first time you sign in, Axial Fit asks you to read the Terms and the Privacy policy and tap I agree. The setup starts right after.

The four steps

  1. About you. Your name, the units you prefer, your height and current weight. Your date of birth is optional: you can give an age range instead. Then your past strength-training experience, when you last trained consistently, and what you can confidently do today.
  2. Goal & schedule. Pick a primary goal, such as Get stronger, Lose body fat or Improve cardio fitness. Choose the days you can usually train and your usual session time. Then say where you will usually train and give that place a short name.
  3. Equipment. Tick what is available at that place. Bodyweight is always available, so an empty list still gives you a plan. See Adding your equipment for the details.
  4. Safety check. Say whether you have any unusual pain right now, and add any movement limitations. Then tap Create my starting plan.

Use Back and Continue to move between steps. If something is missing, the step tells you exactly what, and keeps what you already typed.

A few optional steps after

Each of these has Skip for now, and nothing breaks if you skip.

  • Starting weights. If you said you have strength-training experience, you can enter what you already lift for each movement, then tap Save and start. A weight you enter is rounded down to the smallest change your equipment can make. Leave a box empty and the session finds that weight with you.
  • The health questions. Seven yes-or-no questions that decide whether all-out training is offered. See The health questions.
  • Your main cardio. Pick the cardio you like, how long you can do it now while still holding a conversation, and how much time you can give it each week. See Easy, brisk and hard.
  • Your schedule. Axial Fit asks, "Do you already have a training schedule you have been following?" If you answer No, you go to your week to see what Axial Fit suggests.

What your first sessions look like

How many strength sessions you get depends on your goal, your pace and the days you gave, and they are spread with a day between them. Your first strength session runs in Guided mode so you can see how a workout flows, unless you said you already know your working weights. Afterward you choose whether the next one runs Guided or Self-paced, and you can switch any time from Today.

Your first few sessions on each movement are calibration. They find a safe starting weight with short, easy sets. Nothing in them is an all-out test.

Changing your answers later

Everything you entered stays editable, and past workouts never change when you edit it.

  • Goal: More, then Goal.
  • Days and session length: More, then Training days.
  • Equipment: More, then Equipment.
  • Experience, starting weights and readiness: More, then Starting level & readiness.
  • Name, photo, birthday and height: the avatar menu, then Profile.

Next steps

Each morning you train, start with the morning check-in. To see how your days are laid out, read How your week is planned.
