Working with a coach

A coach is a person who uses Axial Fit to coach you. Your coach invites you, you choose exactly what they can see and do, and you can change that or end the coaching at any time from Settings.

Accepting an invitation

If you do not have an account yet, your coach's invitation arrives by email. Set up your account, and the coaching consent screen appears during setup.

If you already have an account, your inbox says your coach would like to coach you here. Open Settings, find Coach and tap Review.

On the consent screen:

  1. Read your coach's name and any credentials they listed. Axial Fit does not check coaches' qualifications.
  2. Read what they will be able to do, as six switches (see below). Turn off anything you do not want.
  3. If your coach shared their own client agreement, open it, then tick that you agree to it.
  4. Tap I agree, or Not now to decline.

Your coach sees nothing of yours until you agree. You can have one coach at a time.

The six switches

  • Set your plan: your week, your sessions and what each one asks.
  • See your sessions and why they changed: what you did, the reason behind each change, and when you reported pain or low energy.
  • See your weight and waist.
  • See your progress photos. Starts off.
  • Read your conversations with Eve. Starts off.
  • Message you: your coach can write to you, and you to them.

Change any switch in Settings, under Coach, and tap Save. A change takes effect at once.

When your coach sets your plan

What your coach sets replaces what your plan would suggest. You see "Your coach set this." on your week, on the day, and on the movement card, with any note they added. Your inbox tells you when they change something, and Settings lists their recent changes.

  • While your coach holds your plan, next week reads only for you.
  • You can still swap or shorten a movement from its card. Your coach sees what you did.
  • Lighter is not offered on a day your coach set. Message your coach if you need it lighter.
  • Your cardio choice reads "Your coach sets it."

Three things apply whatever a coach sets: the health questions before all-out work, the stop when you report pain, and Axial Fit never diagnosing.

Messaging your coach

With Message you switched on, tap Message your coach under your week on the Plan, or on a movement card during a workout. Your conversation is also in Messages. Messages between you and your coach are not sent by email.

Your coach's client agreement

A coach may have their own agreement with you, shared as a link. If they add one after you start, a card on Today shows it with Read it and I agree; it is also in Settings. Nothing is blocked either way. That agreement is between you and your coach, and Axial Fit is not a party to it. Any fee your coach charges is also between you and your coach.

Hard training and your coach

If you have not been cleared for all-out work, your coach can confirm you already train at that intensity. You then choose to accept it or answer the health questions instead. Your coach never sees your health answers. See The health questions.

What your coach never sees

Your health question answers, your date of birth, body fat, blood pressure, billing, and the notes you type in your check-in.

Ending the coaching

  1. Open Settings and find Coach.
  2. Tap End this coaching.

Your coach's access ends at once. You keep everything, including workouts your coach sent you. Your coach can also pause or end the coaching; your inbox tells you when they do.

Your coach's advice is your coach's. A coach is independent and is not employed by Axial Fit.
